In Conclusion…

Several people have asked why I stopped publishing. To answer the question, this will be my last post:

1. As Bill Clinton basically said when asked why his administration had been so favorable toward China after beating up Bush in the campaign about it, sometimes we don’t know what we think we know until we’ve jumped into the ring.

2. One reason I did jump into the ring was to run my own direct test to determine (a) whether change is possible, and (b) what people really want. I planned a 1-year test from the point I initially started publishing, but it took less than 9 months to conclude:

a. Change is not possible through journalism, the media, or online debates. Plus, as Chris Hedges says in Empire of Illusion, at this point it is impossible to bridge the divide between “a literate, marginalized minority and those who have been consumed by an illiterate mass culture.”

b. As I said in previous articles, IF we participate in the system, I’m not opposed to it at all. How could I be? I’d be a tyrant if I wanted to force hundreds of millions of people to change their behavior. And the fact is, that “IF” was answered long ago. We Americans have chosen the material benefits of being managed by the financial system for generations. We like demand-side freedom, i.e. choosing between Coke and Pepsi, but don’t want supply-side freedom. We like the supply-side to be taken care of for us. We love the benefits that come from it being imperially run—the credit card always works, the gas station is always open, our water faucets and light switches do what they’re supposed to do, the markets keep going up (oops…maybe not). All of our economic needs are outsourced to others, so we have the luxury of spending our time pursuing wants. And if these types of benefits are good for us, they’re good for the rest of the world. We have no moral authority to stand opposed just because we’re now going to lose our privileged position—a rather childlike perspective.

3. Given #2, my only wish is that the system would be transparent. Like Carroll Quigley, I see no rational reason not to inform people so there are fewer caught on the wrong side of the tragedy and hope dialectic. That was the purpose of my last video—to simply explain what’s happening with a slightly different twist than the others who have described the same basic system.

4. Putting all blame on the top of the system is biased and psychologically immature. Labeling a group “all bad” is an example of splitting—a primitive defense mechanism we tend to use to maintain an illusion of “all good” for ourselves, our country, our political party, etc. Some of my articles and videos intentionally played the splitting game because the media is designed to exacerbate splits, so if I wanted to pursue media work, I needed to play the game. But splitting is very harmful to society, so I will no longer do it. Moreover, as stated in #2, almost everyone contributes to the system so blaming only the top would be disingenuous.

5. Given human nature and the inherent requirement for empires to grow (or die in defeat to another empire), we will have one type of imperial system or another as long as humans are in charge. All such systems are narcissistic in form, so it’s futile in my view to argue between different forms of narcissism.

So I will not be publishing anymore, at least with the narrow focus on the financial system. It’s an illusion to think arguing about finance, economics, and markets will fix anything. But for those who want to continue learning about the system, I recommend Catherine Austin Fitts. I’ve said nothing more than her. In fact, I learned it from her—she was an insider, I was not. I borrowed the phrases “multi-generational wealth” and huge “pools of capital” at the top of the system from her. Noam Chomsky’s phrase is “coalitions of investors.” Same thing…I’ve revealed nothing new.

I also recommend Hedges’ Empire of Illusion for those who want to dig more into the spiritual and psychological dimensions of the situation in which we find ourselves. I agree with him, “The world that awaits us will be painful and difficult.” It’s useful to accept and adjust to this inevitability rather than wishing it away or being angry about it. There is no way around it because the ruleset we’ve lived within for decades was not sustainable. It depended upon exponential growth, exponential debt, exponential resource consumption, and exponential environmental impact.

As the world goes through a necessary reset of the rules, we will experience significant upheaval. I recommend Chris Martenson’s material at www.chrismartenson.com to understand the exponential ruleset and to dialogue with an enlightened community taking steps to minimize the upheaval for their local communities. That is the only prudent option at this point.

Wish you the best Damon. You’ve done an outstanding job with the material and I very much appreciate everything in which you stand! It has been a great honor reading and watching your work! I think you’ve come to the conclusion that I did a while ago. We can’t win this way. IMO, upheaval and revolution are the only ways to get back our freedom. Whether that’s a peaceful revolution (which I don’t think will work), or other is yet to be determined. But more than likely, humanity will continue to be enslaved by the elite, and we’ll be living in the world of Logansrun in the mid future.

Best of luck Damon! Take care!

Damon, with all due respect to you and all those leaving touchy-feely comments wishing you well…what a bunch of B.S.! So, you’re stuck on what to do now. How does someone with your insight and perspective come up with “quitting” as an acceptable path? Have you or your family been threatened by TPTB at the top of the pyramid? Is this another test you’re giving your followers to see how many will just accept this and wish you well?
Come on!!! It’s not over until we say it’s over. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor???
Seriously, I do have a suggestion for you and your followers. I’ve been following a blog “The Economic Review Journal” http://www.theyenguy.wordpress.com/ during the last year and it’s provided some additional meaning as to what going on in our world from both an economics as well as a spiritual perspective.
I do hope you rethink your decision.

  2. JackKnife says:

Fare thee well, Vrabel. You’ve done a man’s job.

  3. Tom Harney says:

    Damon:

    Thank you.

    Regards,

  4. Cody says:

thank you for the work you have done (especially the video series that i have turned into dvd’s to give out for free to friends & family). i am very logical minded so your straight up approach without all the drama and fear is very effective.

a few of the online communities have come to similar conclusions as you have explained (such as http://www.collapsenet.com) and other’s are just working to give the tools to educate one’s self then be able to inform one’s self using critical thinking (www.tragedyandhope.com).

your work has had an effect…even if you don’t see it. it’s helping the awakening so that people may prepare for the big change.

    thanks again and godspeed.

    respectfully,
    ~Cody

    • Newman says:

Cody — Were you able to get Damon’s “Debunking Money” series onto DVDs? I watched them once, planning to go back and study them in a more serious way. I thought they were really excellent. I’m just interested in understanding the topic.

But now those videos are gone. If you were able to save them, I’d be interested in buying a copy from you. Please let me know at: jhnewmanii@yahoo.com. THANKS!

    • Craig says:

I must say that I would be very interested if possible to obtain a copy of the 5 part series “Debunking Money”. It appears that for some reason it has been removed and this is sad indeed as it provided very interesting information that really needs to be seen more than once for it to sink in. If there is a way that I may obtain a DVD of this series I would be very interested in getting one more chance at learning this information. Thanks, Craig

  5. doug says:

Thanks for all your fantastic work! The solutions are all local, the global system will collapse primarily due to Energy and Resource Depletion. Other Black Swans are lurking in the shadows as well, the modern industrial train keeps rolling toward the end of the tracks. Make peace with yourself and the world around you.

Wish you the best Damon. You have open my eyes. I always have ideas to find a way for payback time.(FED) First I need a underdog country to help my with my ideas. If I find one, I will need your help and support. I first have to convince you first. Underdog country can be the country that pays to high interst for there bounds or not already in the hands of IMF. I am looking to find a country in the EU. For this idea I need someone that I can trust and will understand the idea. You did a great job. I do not how to thank you. My eyes and ears are open for what the goverment or media will not tell you. Thank you very much. Take care

  7. Jacques Brocker says:

    will miss your comments.

  8. Eddie Tennison says:

    Damon,
Although I won’t argue against the logic of what you have stated in this post, I would like to let you know that you have been a teacher and an inspiration to me, personally, as I have tried to get a handle on the true nature of the world and the country I live in…and prepare myself and my family for what is surely coming.
You might be selling your efforts a little short…Voices like yours and a few others, the real heroes of today, need to continue be raised. In spite of the overwhelming odds…in spite of everything.
Regardless, thanks for your articles, videos and for this site. I wish you the best in whatever direction you take next.

    Eddie

  9. Rick says:

I am sorry you are quitting, you know the fight has to start with words and you did a great job of simplifying what has happened to our great nation. Our fore fathers had the same fight and at times I am sure they felt it was a loss cause, but they never quit and we can’t stop we have to enlighten the people of the United States. I have spread your information to anyone I could and people are listening and beginning to wake up concerning the federal reserve and how they are controlling our lives and our government.

  10. Alan Bailey says:

Thank you Damon for your videos and your honesty. There will only be true change from suffering and loss. Please keep your online videos available … they are clear and simple and explain where we are. Again Thank You.

  11. Dr. Linda Copeland M.D., BCBA says:

Thanks, Damen. I’m a Kaiser developmental pediatrician interested in working for stronger, healthier local communities (including my own). I’d like to keep in touch with you. I’m a friend of David Dionisi. If you feel so inclined, I’d be pleased to receive an email from you.
    Best wishes,
    Linda Copeland

  12. Max says:

Damon, you have changed lives. It is easy and understandable to see why we give up, but you are wrong believing media cannot change minds. You, or anyONE else cannot change in a year, what has brain washed the masses over the last 50 years. Change is coming, and it is coming by people like yourself who took their own time and gave a little piece of their lives to help. I believe we can live in the world and live in peace. The monetary system allows endless wars, and the ability to over consume the worlds resources. May be Mr. Rhodes ideas were well intended, but todays One World Order will lead to destruction if we do not enlighten all. Thank you for giving so much to all of us who care but do not have the abilities to do what you have done. You have shown the world a ray of light.

  13. Armen Nikogosian says:

All I can say is THANK YOU!!. 2010 was the year I fully woke up. For many years I sifted through all the disinformation out there and finally arrived with you, Catherine Austin Fitts and Alan Watt. Unfortunately, I wholeheartedly agree that change is not possible at this point through media alone. Personally , I don’t think anything can stop the Endgame from closing. However, we all have complete power over ourselves and attempting as clear a picture of reality as possible is a necessity in altering our individual choices (i.e survival).
Anyway, I’ll keep searching for articles from you in the Canada Free Press and keep my fingers crossed. Good luck and I hope life takes wherever you want to go.

  14. Tim Healy says:

    Damon,

I am sorry that we will not be receiving any more posts from you. I have to say that my perspective also has evolved as a result of the exchange of ideas on this blog. You may have noticed that I have arrived at some of the same conclusions you have. I now see quite clearly that the challenges of the human condition cannot be viewd in simplistic terms of certain bogeymen and their institutional machinations. As I wrote just today to William; Governments, corporations et. al. are simply the mental constructs that we all carry around in our minds, but the reality of society is us, and the wise men of the ages have counseled, “Know thyself”.

It seems to me that the task that faces us is the seeking of enlightenment, one person at a time, and it begins with one’s own self. Having come to this realization, I find myself at the beginning of a brand new and exciting quest. I would just like to say, in this connection, that forums like yours could play a valuable role in this endeavor. You and I have not come to the end of our explorations but have passed through a door leading to whole new horizons.

In seeking truth, one cannot expect pre-ordained conclusions. If we knew the answers in advance, what need would there be for the search? We must go where the road leads us. But the search for the unknown is one of the most rewarding activities imaginable. And it is only enhanced in the sharing.

Yes, there are only a few at any given time who are ardently questing after truth, and there will be many wrong turns and potholes along the way. And yes, we may fall on our asses at times, but, as Bucky Fuller said, there is no learning save by trial and error. We must put our egos in perspective and, in the words of Joseph Campbell, pursue the hero’s journey. Won’t you continue on this journey with us, Damon. What other choice do we, that small band of seekers, have?

  15. Chris Britton says:

Thank you, Damon. I came to your web site and series of videos just a few days ago, and now I see your post from today. Although I understand and agree with your analysis in points 1-5 above, I would urge you to continue to think, to feel, and thereby to write. You have an intellect combined with a gift for communicating, and this combination has value and importance in a more and more troubled world. We may ultimately only be able to prepare ourselves for future circumstances as Chris Martenson suggests, but intellectual community is as important as physical community, and I would love to keep you as a virtual neighbor.

  16. Andrea says:

    Damon,
I have not been to your site in about 3 weeks and tonight I wanted to get “caught up” with your “Voice”. I was sadden to read that you will not be publishing. I have been on a quest for the truth for just under 6 years and there are many who share a little about a lot (some with a lot of fear and drama) but few who have traced the History of the Empire as you have. I just found you and your work only 4 months ago and I have been spreading the “Good news” about this most sacred site it is such a shame that your site will be closing down. In my opinion there has never been anyone as succinct, direct and profoundly honest in sharing the information about what is really going on all around us. My one request is that we can stay connected. Thank you for all you do! I send you love and respect for all you have contributed.
    In Service,
    Andrea

  17. TheInterest says:

Damon, I’m sorry to see you leave the blogosphere but know people will still continue to watch your videos and learn from what you’ve presented. I only recently came across your ideas and from the education I’ve had over the last few years, your ideas summed up just about everything that I’ve been consuming. I was looking forward to having you within my circle-of-information otherwise known as my news reader. You will be missed. In true form, you’ve once again summed up our societal problem with this your last post.

  18. Armen Nikogosian says:

    I second Healy’s post.
C’mon Damon, stick around for a while.

  19. poopyjim says:

OK… so yes it’s hopeless… yes you probably can’t fix anything… But why’d you have to remove your videos (scrolled down below to see they were ‘removed by user’)?! They were excellent.

  21. A.Reader says:

Thanks for the excellent videos and efforts! I watched all of them, they are great. Your appearances with Max were also great.

I pretty much gave up trying to explain to others what is going on about a year ago. I realized that you can’t help some one who does not want to be helped. It’s a sad situation, makes the few who understand what is happening feel as if they are living in the Twilight Zone.

    Good Luck!!

Brilliant piece of work you have created here. Thanks.

Also appreciate your understanding of “splitting” and how we love to hope and believe we’re right or better. This puts you way ahead of most of those other bloggers! (Humor invoked slyly.)

Best of luck in following the thread of your truth. I’m sure you’ll keep spreading some form of understanding. Enjoy the ride.

Damon, you have contributed mightily to the understanding of a few and confounded the intelligence of those who have chosen the blue pill and drift willingly back into the matrix. Continue your mission on another plane and if you ever decide to settle, keep NWA in mind. It will indeed be a wonderful world again some day…. Doc

Thanks for the enlightment! Men are too dishonest ever permit a just economic system that is on top. “The love of money is the root of all evil”. These evil men and their ways will someday be exposed by the Judge of us all, and their pettiness punished. Pray for them and all like them. Obviously the antichrist is here and soon to come into the open and just as they did to our Savior, they will do to us. Thanks again for your work, the truth should always be told. Ken

I always liked your style and your rhetoric.

    Thanks for your inspiring run.

The content you have made to date is not going away, I hope. I love your Renaissance 2.0 series, and I hope it stays available on YouTube or something similar forever.

This “farewell” post is well-written and at least as savvy and informative as everything else you have done. You are not going out with a whimper from the “publishing” venue. I’ll keep my eyes and ears open to word of your ongoing ventures and adventures.

    Damon, say it ain’t so!!!

Since reading this post last night I’ve been unable to respond, trying to think of what to say. Your debunking money series of vids meant so much to me because they finally tipped me to what is really going on and I was looking forward to many more to be further enlightened. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement!

Is there nothing to say that would bring you back to posting? Yes, I’ve been to Chris’ site and even browsed Fitts’ but even then I didn’t understand so clearly as when I watched your vids, especially the debunking money series. Why have you taken then down? Even if you’ve come to the conclusions you have, could you at least put those vids back online? I’m a poor explainer when trying to help others see what has become of us; your videos are so much better than I will ever be!

Well, whatever you decide, thanks very much for all you’ve done…

  32. Caroline says:

    Damon,

I really hope this isn’t the end for your enlightening and truth spreading commentary and research. You may think you do not have more to do in the economic awareness area, but the world truly does need your spiritual wisdom to continue to be spoken, in relation to economics. The two are not mutually exclusive, and very much affect one another. You have only hit the tip of the iceberg in “spiritual economics”, and though your economic analysis was one more way for people to understand, keep putting out more of the spiritual in relation to the economic, and there you will be one of a few.

    Namaste and Blessings Be,

    Caroline

  33. Ranallo says:

It was a good run! Your military and career background really gives credibility to this effort. Thanks for taking the time to do this.

Understanding the “senior capital pools”, “money as debt”, “velocity of money” and “money vortex” has provided me with even more confidence that my reading of history, observations and real world experiences are valid.

One tidbit I’d like leave you with is that your message of decentralized power, individual freedom and local participation is very much aligned with the “anarcho-capitalist” world view. I know you and Tao belittled their “government bogeyman”rants, but, if you dig a little into Murray Rothbard’s teachings, you’ll find sound theories, understand “govt as force” and get a detailed psychological analysis of the “power elite” that maps very closely with your views.

With that, I’d also like to add that you (and Tao) have opened my mind to local “socialism” so long as politicians or any power broker has to live with their decisions.

Good luck and hope to see you in the media occasionally. I’d love to see you debate some of these clueless pundits.

  34. Freddy says:

    Thanks for your good work.
To take things further, I recommend this philosophical theory for you: http://www.reality.org.uk/

Christianity was from the beginning a revolt against debt-slavery, but don´t forget that it also was a sort of “enlightment” against God as an old, angry man.
“God, or Mammon” still stands out as a very true and simple rule, and i don´t say that as someone connected to anything religious, just as a description of that people end in one of these two, depending on what they choose.

  35. Ray Sawhill says:

Many thanks for the great work.

  37. Lili says:

I will miss your educational posts and videos. What a pity you removed them !
I hope you are safe and not pressed or pushed by government/banksters forces and it is your own, uninfluenced decision. There will be no change in this country through revolution or any other action if people are cut off from realiable, eyes opening education. You are so important in enlightening process of our society and it is a great loss to us to see you quit this not crowded scene.
I still hope you could change your mind.
Thank you for everything you send us in your blog.
    My best wishes to you.

  38. Philip Durkee says:

I was wondering why you hadn’t posted anything recently. I sincerely appreciate your clear and concise explanation of the forces that affect us. It has been an extremely clear presentation and I am grateful for the amount of information you did enlighten me with. It seems the threads of truth that are sparsely woven through society are forced to be removed or limited in one way or another.

I’m a subscriber of Catherine Austin-Fitts. She seems to stop “just short” of telling us outright what we should be seeing. She leaves that up to us to deduce on our own. She does, however, give us plenty of tools to accomplish this. It’s like she (and others like her) walk a fine line and can’t directly reveal/expose what she knows. By taking a little initiative, a person like me can obtain the necessary information to make the right decisions and influence others to plan for what awaits us. The answer isn’t the black and white one that we have been conditioned to expect. It’s a change of life/living concept. One that I have started to plan for and implement.

I plan to research the names and sites you mentioned. For anyone interested in a Biblical slant on issues, regulations, etc. we face today I have found http://www.crossroad.to to be useful.

    Your comment:
“So I will not be publishing anymore, at least with the narrow focus on the financial system.”
I hope this means we will still be hearing from you! If not, I for one will miss your Gift of clarity.

  39. Tao Jonesing says:

    Thanks, Damon.

As you continue your journey, please consider using your blog to keep us posted as you discover interesting things. I, for one, think you’ve sold short your contributions to the conversation. Regardless of what you may have borrowed from other thinkers and commentators, what you pulled together was truly unique and valuable on its own.

I might as well close my comment with a point of disagreement: I don’t agree that “human nature” requires narcissistic imperial systems. Yes, the human brain is wired to process information in a way that can be easily manipulated to exert control over the masses by transforming them into narcissists, but that manipulation is a perversion of human nature and not representative of human nature itself. By choosing to reject using such manipulation in your own efforts, you actually embraced your true nature as a human being, you did not reject it. Thanks for setting a good example.

  41. Per-Erik Lindskog says:

    Dear Damon!

Thanks a lot for all your great work! You have planted a wonderful seed that will continue to grow and breed over time.

I can sense from your post a certain air of resignation and disappointment.
This is not necessary, because with God everything is possible.

The innate nature of the human heart is goodness, not evil.

Our society and culture encourages greed and hatred in so many subtle ways, the economic system being one of them. Many people might not yet be able to see through these lies, and to see that they have become enslaved and ensnared in so many different ways.

They were born free, and it is our assignment by God to help them liberate themselves again.

Just a few hundred years ago, slavery was a natural part of society. It was supported by the rich and mighty as well as the general popolation. It seemed to be set to stay forever.

Then, during a very short period of time, the population started seeing this practice as unreasonable and ungodly. Without the support of the people, it eventually couldn’t be sustained.

We have done it before, and we can do it again.

America was, is and will always be the land of freedom.

We will this time take down the hidden slavery, by simply revealing it.

Thanks again Damon, for your wonderful contribution and beautiful heart.

  42. Kimberley McKaig says:

    Damon,
Adhering to truth in any endeavor is in keeping with the correctly ordered life. I commend you for what you have done, both sharing the insights you have into our financial system, and now, in choosing to discontinue that effort in the form it has taken. Ultimately we long for a place not accessible to us as the earth is now ordered. The subject and object of that longing guides our efforts and decisions about how to live in the place we find ourselves for now.

Thank you for putting yourself “out there”. I believe you’ll always be moving forward on behalf of the ultimate good and real truth.

    Kimberley

  43. Fare thee well Lord and King of Vrabel Mountain!

Each Wo/Man to their own house!

As without so within. . .a great mystery

The Gold the Silver. The Food the Water.

And do not forget to salute the Sun.

Bar the gates upon the mountains.

Seek your soul’s sustenance upon the wall,

    OM.

    Look! A foul beast comes!

As within so without. . . A great mystery.

    Quickly! Consecrate the ground,

    Holy Mother Earth.

Guard Her mysteries! Slay the demons who have found residence in our hearts!

Each Wo/Man to their own house!

Sound the Trumpets, pound the Drums, gather the warriors Round.

In Sovereignty, we decree, our Soul’s Salvation.

No foul beast or dark demon will move us from this sacred ground.

    No further fey creatures,

the writing is on the wall. . .

As above, so below and everything in-between

    A great mystery to see,

    through the eyes of responsibility.

    So consecrate the ground,

    Holy Mother Earth.

Each Wo/Man to their own house.

In Sovereignty, we decree, our Soul’s salvation.

  44. I fully agree with your decision to quit writing. We’re obviously past the point of Peak Intellect and any further efforts at enlightenment are bound to met with equally diminishing returns of political awareness. It’s a shame, and I hate to say it, but for the most part people really DO suck and we won’t get their attention without first getting them out of their cars to do a little blood-letting and book-burning in the streets. No telling what might ooze out of the burning ashes but the kids have a great sense of humor these days and they’ll probably come up with something “catchy” like tippy canoe and tyler too with 40 acres and a mule for one and all. I’m going to devote the rest of my life to chiseling your words in fire-proof stone for posterity. How’s that. Let’s leave them some clues for when they start over.

    • Tao Jonesing says:

“Peak Intellect” — That’s classic, man!

I refuse to think people suck. We’re just limited by how the human brain evolved. We crave certainty in an uncertain world, so our brains enforce (and reinforce) certainty in its absence. As a result, it can be almost impossible to get people to see the world as it truly is, at least through words. Action is necessary. Unfortunately, most people of action don’t seek to enlighten but to enforce their own version of certainty. People like Gandhi and MLK are extremely rare.

So, you’re probably right about how this all winds up.

      • I agree; people like MLK, Ghandi, and myself are OK: I’d even add you and Thomas Jefferson to the list, but everyone else pretty much sucks for the reasons you stated – uncertainty, lame brains, word-recognition problems, etc. – but sugar-coating the suckage factor in human nature won’t win you any political arguments here.

The world is in big trouble and the sooner we inform these people that they suck, the better. It’s for their own good so don’t blame me, I’m just the messenger.

  45. Monk says:

One reason to talk about these issues is not to change the system but to warn others of its impending collapse. That is what I believe is part of the argument given in the sites mentioned.

Put simply, we have a global capitalist system that requires increasing production and consumption of goods not just for Americans but for around 85 pct of the global population that lack various basic needs and with more now entering the middle class. That is why demand for energy, cars, appliances, food, medicine, and many other goods and services is rising significantly in countries like India, China, and more which have large populations. And it’s not just wants but needs like potable water, roofs on houses, paved roads, public health care clinics and basic medical equipment, that are in great demand.

It is not surprising that at the very least money supply has to increase to meet increasing production and consumption of goods, and as more people enter the middle class, they will also want to earn from financial investment and speculation, which increases money supply further. Banks will obviously meet that need as they earn money only by lending more money.

Credit bubbles popping are inevitable, then, but they will pale in comparison to a resource crunch, esp. one combined with the effects of global warming.

  46. BuffaloBilly says:

    All,

no reason to give up hope:

Congressional Press Release, 17 December 2010:

“As the nation struggles with long-term unemployment at rates not seen in generations, contracted credit, and the hoarding of public dollars by the banks, U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, today introduced a dramatic new proposal to establish fiscal integrity, reassert congressional sovereignty, and regain control of monetary policy from private banks.

The National Emergency Employment Defense Act of 2010 would allow the federal government to directly fund badly-needed infrastructure repairs and fund education systems nationwide by spending money into circulation without increasing the national debt. The bill would end the current practice of fractional reserve lending, whereby the economy depends upon private financial institutions to lend money into circulation.

Kucinich stated: “The staggeringly bad employment and economic numbers represent a massive problem which cries out for bold action. Rather than crossing our fingers and hoping that banks will finally lend some of the billions of public dollars they haven’t thus far seen fit to lend, we can take action. My bill would replace the Federal Reserve System’s dependence on private banks to create credit. In its place, a Monetary Authority under the Treasury Department would directly inject liquidity into the economy by purchasing much-needed public infrastructure repair. Today we have idle capital, millions of able-bodied but unemployed workers, unused equipment, and record low interest rates. These conditions are the best possible time to make a long-term investment in our nation’s infrastructure. My bill would do exactly that.”

  47. Kylie says:

    Damon Vrabel,

Chris Hedges, in spite of his agreement that we are probably doomed, would not agree with your decision to quit.

Maybe it is easier for you not to expend the energy, but you are leaving the rest of us to continue the fight without you, one fewer in number, hearing one less voice of reason, one less excellent, creative message that keeps us going.

We will fight on, because we know that every act of resistance matters, every act of rebellion – no matter how small – is a reason to have hope.

If we are looking for people to love us and laud us, we are barking up the wrong tree. Leadership, especially in a time of crisis, is not about being appreciated or winning or even about being right – it is about blazing a path and showing the power of creativity to solve even deep problems, so that others (particularly younger people) will be inspired. Blazing a path is a lot about getting treed in the face. It is not fun; it is necessary. It is a sacrifice with great rewards, but potentially unmeasurable ones.

When people of strong intellect and good heart refuse to lead, we have truly lost.

We cannot look for signs of victory in the short term. A year is a very short term, particularly when you recognize that we are at the crisis point in a system that has been in decline for more than fifty years – that is longer than you or I have been living. We don’t want to live in such times – but we do. Reality always wins, in the end.

Those of us who choose to fight on do not fight on for those who like the system. We fight on for those who do not. And we will miss you.

    Kylie

“First they ignore you, then they fight you, then you win.” -Ghandi

  48. Thanks for all your good work Damon.

I appreciated the clarity of thought and presentation.

I too have found people who have heard your wisdom but have failed to surrender to the power of your words, or dismiss it outright as fringe thinking.

Still, those who have commented here, people who like your work and have ideas of their own form an association of sorts. We want to make a positive difference. Its not just about finding a cave and eating beans til the end of our days.

Its just like everything: you have to wait for the “learning moment” when people will say “ahah!”. You were running at 100 MPH and so many of us are playing catchup at 5 MPH.

Humans aren’t like viruses which bloom until they die in their own waste products. We have a brain and we have society. We can make changes. We can work collectively. But the process is trial and error – a bit messy. Somehow we’ll muddle through but it won’t be easy.

  49. george says:

Why have you removed “debunking money #” series from youtube ?

  50. Yophat says:

I have greatly enjoyed your videos and appreciate the efforts you have put forth. That said, I must end with the following quote by Thomas Paine -

“These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph….Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated.”

  51. Alex H-son says:

Remember the words of Einstein: “The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.”

The only thing that will achieve the needed change of our society is of course having a critical mass of people realizing that the world is the way it is, because of our collective (conscious and sub-/unconscious) belives about what is real and what is possible. That’s why we NEED to take an active part in the world. When enough of us realize that we don’t really need to change anything of what THEY are doing, but all we need to change is what WE are doing (no one rules if no one obeys), then we will lastingly change our lives – individually & collectively. As long as we look the other way and comply with the powers that be, the current Zeitgeist will remain in control. And we’ll remain complicit to status quo; our present system of monetary servitude.

Fortunately, this system is inherently selfdestructive, actually already in the process of collapsing. What replaces it I believe depends entirely of the broadly percieved analysis of the breakdown. Complacent ignorance – authoritarian control and ecological disasters. A critical mass of people awakened – a huge opportunity to collective prosperity and individual freedom on a level unseen before. The human experience is determinened by our consciousness; the resources are – as yet – sufficient for all. Let’s do our best to awaken our sleepwalking brothers & sisters. Should we fail, well… at least we did what we could and felt meaning in our actions.

Check out http://thezeitgeistmovement.com/ – already half a million members working for the next step in the human evolution.

  52. The Dork of Cork says:

Thank you Damon – you did a great job of explaining our predicament in a concise and rational manner without being a heartless bastard.
I hear you like trekking – get a backpack on your self again and head into the wilds for a few months to clear your head after such digging (looking directly into the eye can be traumatic for the best of us )
Maybe after you can come back sometime and share any further thoughts

  53. Mike Heine says:

Thank you brother for all the work you have done. Very sorry to hear that you will no longer be in the fight. I understand though, I totally agree things can’t change primarily because of the HUGE gap between the literate marginalized minority and those consumed by illiterate mass culture. It is good to know that I am in tune with ALL of the sources that you named above. It’s at least a small consolation knowing that I am at least a member of the marginalized minority.

    2 things before I sign off………
    1. I would like to meet you sometime. Lunch is on me. Would really like to sit down with you and share some of my experiences and hear firsthand your thoughts on things. I am 52 and have been in the Medical Device business for over 25 years. Soon I will be resigning my service to the empire. I don’t care if I live in a cabin in the mountains or a van on the beach. Anything to get out of the matrix.

    2. You will be back. I know it. You care too much.

    Happy mountaining Damon man!!!!!

  55. Poet Parzival says:

You’re a rare beacon in a dark age! Thank You. Not to sound paranoid, but I hope your decision not to publish in the financial realm wasn’t because someone got to you…
    Best wishes.

  56. Patricia Dee says:

Outstanding work, Damon. I just came upon your treasures today at the same time I read that you are discontinuing your publishing. Please know that you have left a library of clear and articulate presentations of the complex ruse for all those who are just beginning to awaken to the fishy smell. Your gift has already been given.

I am truly happy for you that you will no longer “fight the good fight”. My path for the last 2 decades has been Empowered Disengagement from the system you so clearly describe. I feed it nothing – not my money, my passion, my energy, or even my attention. But I have struggled simply and clearly to explain why (and only when clients persistently ask) and your materials will be invaluable to me.

Enjoy your life and give nothing further to the very system you understand. Please contribute your extraordinary insight and expression to creating an alternative in your own reality. Trust that the “illiterate masses” have chosen their path to clarity and personal growth, however jarring and painful it may for them. Create and support your own world as many of us are already doing. And when others are faced with the ending of this way of life, you will have gifted them with the answers they will seek. Thank you so much. I hope our paths will cross as we create and model a more sustainable way of sharing life and resources on this beautiful planet. I think it’s time for most of us to just walk a new walk.

All my best and instant affection and respect to you, Patricia

  57. Scott Healy says:

    Damon,
Thank you for the excellent power point presentations. They definitely enlightened me, along with some of my family and friends. You really put the pieces of this complex puzzle together in a succinct and logical manner.

I wish you would reconsider on publishing more of your thoughts, but respect your decision. I admire your courage, honesty, and trying to enlighten people in a warped world.

    Thank you!

    Warmest Regards

Damon: Thanks for the videos and tutorials. They are the clearest explanations of our situation I have encountered. I’ve been thinking about your retirement for days. Here are my thoughts:

    1. Yes, your efforts will likely be futile. I, too have pretty much given up proselytizing. Seems too much a waste of time and energy. Friends and relatives think I am nuts and do not get it.

    2. Best wishes for your future. Enjoy, as I will, what remains of the good times.

    3. I agree that it is too late to avert the downward spiral. However, we can prepare for the aftermath. This is where you may contribute. You have a gift for it.

    4. So, it boils down to this: Cowboy up, Man. Keep teaching. We need to pick up the pieces after the fall and you can help. I’m 66 and plan to do my part. But it would be easier with you insights for the aftermath.

  59. Charles Bernard says:

After the collapse. We will have to rebuild.
I will be looking for you Damon, and for the others like you too.
Just maybe we can get it right in the future.
Thanks for all you’ve done to enlighten us.

I don’t think you should quit just yet. I thought you were just getting started. Oh, well. Your videos were great. It’s hard to get people educated about money. Only when cable TV is too expensive will the general public truely wake up. It’s an uphill battle for everyone…

  61. Frederick C. Blackburn says:

    Dear Mr. Vrabel,

I am saddened by your conclusions and your actions based on those conclusions, i.e. to quit and to pull a large body of your excellent work from public access.

Based on our e-mail conversations in 2010, I had hoped that I could show you how my work could be used to address many of the concerns I saw that you were having with “fixing the system.”

Now, I understand why my last batch of e-mails went unanswered.

If you ever change your mind and want to “change your mind”, you know how to contact me.

Else, please know how thankful I am for your work. It was truly enlightening as well as confirming of my own work and model.

I wish you all the best.

    Sincerely,

There has been a future worth seeking on the other side of every Dark Age of ignorance and superstition in the past. The problem is getting there. If most people living today choose to be led to a fate not of their making, so be it. But that does not change the problem the rest of us face. How to reach the future we seek. Applied technology will play a large part in enforcing the developing tyranny. But other applied technology is also the answer to how to reach a better future, where there are no followers of authoritarians supporting the dysfunctional minds with their servility. People have always had the weapons to free themselves from limiting paradigms. Perhaps one reason they seem unaware is the iron rule every tyranny imposes.
Logic is an enemy, and truth is a menace.

Thank you for putting together the excellent videos and articles you have compiled.
Wish you well in all your future plans.

  64. Konsta says:

Thank you for all that you have done. I understand the frustration of clearly laying out the facts and their consequences and then seeing them not sink in or have any effect. However, I think that they DO have an effect, even if it’s not immediately visible on the surface. We have been conditioned by this system for decades (maybe even centuries) and it will take time to reverse the tide. But it is happening. You have done your part and others will join in and it will be much easier for us because of all the work you and people like you have done.

Thank you very much for your videos and writen words. Like others I also think that it’s a shame that you’ve withdrawn.

As an Economics teacher it’s absolutely bizzare that fiat money, fractional reserve banking and debt based money are not only on the syllabus that I have to teach – no what’s worse is the level of ignorance amongst other Economics teachers that don’t even realise that there are ‘issues’ with debt based money.

Stay healthy Damon – could we see you again on Max Keiser’s show?

    • Tao Jonesing says:

“Stay healthy Damon – could we see you again on Max Keiser’s show?”

I can’t answer for Damon, but my bet is no. Damon is an idealist and an altruist, somebody who believes that a leader should lead from the front and live among his followers. At the same time, he doesn’t want to be a leader because his time as a leader in the military and in the corporate world has led him to the conclusion that leadership usually means deception (this is me reading his behavior; I’ve never asked him point blank). He entered his trial period hoping to be a teacher, to arm people with the questions they could ask to find the truth. What he found (and what I’ve found, as well) is that people cling to their existing worldview (my words, not his) over seeking the truth. Most people want to confirm what they already think they know, not to learn.

There are so many things that went into Damon’s decision to exit the public arena, but I think the primary reason he did so was to remain true to himself and who he wants to be. To take his message to a broader audience would have required compromises he didn’t want to make (again, this is me reading his behavior). On the one hand, he didn’t want to manipulate his “followers” into finding his truth, he wanted them to find their own truth (but many were just seeking confirmation). On the other hand, he was getting threats (and enticements, if I’m not mistaken) to co-opt his vision for profit.

But the truth will not be monetized.

I truly respect Damon’s decision (which I knew of a bit before most people on this blog) and believe it was the right decision for him (and us). Really, what he did was akin to George Washington refusing to run for a third term as president. The fact that he left us wanting more just means we need to find it within ourselves.

      • Tim Healy says:

        Tao,

Your last sentence pretty much sums it up. In the final analysis, truth is an inside job and one can only direct one’s own life on the basis of one’s own discovered truth. But first one must fearlessly and honestly seek the truth.

The leader/follower model is always antithetical to and corruptive of true self-realization and liberation. It (leader/follower model) necessarily entails egotism which is at the root of all of the problems discussed on this blog and in life itself. Until one plumbs the depths of the Self (sic), all true understanding will be lost in a blizzard obfuscating language, directing attention away from Self to a host of reified concepts which are no more than idols of the mind.

  71. I think people should keep on going. We can’t give up. There is one major reason people should never give up: Our children, grand children, great grandchildren, etc.

It is most unfair to watch events unfold knowing that those least responsible will be the ones that pay the heaviest price; the young, the elderly, the homeless, the vulnerable.

I understand that we all have responsibility. But I will never give up believing that we cannot force justice upon those with the highest levels of complicity and blame. We can say “all people are to blame” but there is a difference in someone at the bottom struggling to survive in the “system” and those at the top who see nothing wrong in what they have purposefully planned, implemented and soon will be holding up as the solution:
    Problem >>> Reaction >>> Solution.

This little formula is what it is all about. We can forgive the little man or little woman their mis-handling of a credit card or getting to far over their heads in mortgage, and maybe we can forgive those at top (???)….maybe….but we can never let this go un-punished.

There are over 1 million people now dead because of the Banking system, corporations, and the Western “system” in general. This alone should keep people driving on and even PUSHING HARDER.

WE HAVEN’T EVEN PULLED OUT OF THE HAT ALL THAT WE CAN PULL OUT OF THE HAT….TO STOP ALL OF THIS. Why give up now?

The people will start paying attention when they no longer can stuff their faces with food and shop til they drop. We are not that far into the “beginning” of this.

Don’t stop now. We need people that can articulate the events. Our people don’t even have the proper educational backgrounds and tools to make sense of their world let alone connect the dots. Most don’t understand it. They get confused and frankly IT IS CONFUSING. The propaganda machine is pumping 24/7 against the Americans. How else can this evil cartel that has grasped the reins of power hope to succeed unless they use all matters of propaganda and even mind control? They couldn’t.

If you or I believe that this could be possible, Naturally, then we ourselves don’t understand human beings. Humans have potential. The Powers of darkness want us to believe that humans are basically a hopeless cases and that we don’t have potential and are in constant need of control. This is another big illusion too.

I won’t ever give up. If you are called to present information, because you have a gift and a knack for this, then use it.

Most of us don’t have this gift of articulation. There is really not that many people that can take this subject on.

Oh, there is many internet writers. But many fall into the trap that I think you are being confronted with:
They start seeing the “hopelessness” of the masses. Then they start calling them names….and it spreads and pretty soon you get sites like informationclearinghouse.info which used to be a good site, but now its just a mass of put downs on the little man and little woman. Where does that get anybody? What good is it to continually call people “stupid” and say things like “they will get what they deserve”? I’ve seen good authors succumb to this way of thinking. Its sad because it actually feeds right into the corrupt power cartel. What better for them than to have everyone turn on the people, pin it all on them, while the thieves float off into the sunset with all their looted wealth?

I had to quit my own blog due to too much time involved. But it was just a blog that was posting other people’s articles. I would spend 6 or more hours a day and finally had to quit because other obligations in life were being neglected, like it was taking time away from finding a job….and providing for my own small circle of people.

So when people have the time, and they have the know-how and knowledge base, then YOU become a leader. We need leaders.

I’m not a leader, but I want to help. I think many others feel this same way.

    Damon,

First I would like to thank you for your generous contribution to awareness because it is essential.

I get you are testing and all testing is outstanding to evaluate but as for your outlook that changing peoples ideas is tyranny is the farthest from the truth should it be based on truth.

Isn’t the idea to get as many as possible evaluating all the pathetic ideas up against the marvelous ideas many of us create?

I like your site and would like it to go a step further in contributions of evaluators and finders of truths. I believe it is the contributions we leave each other that feeds our abilities to grow. It is so easy for many to call it human condition so we do not have to step forward and this is the farthest from the truth. Its not the human condition at all you are up against and very much training instilled within us from a deeper entity to rule and manipulate us. I personally traced it back to Egypt but have been explain it goes a little further back. But it has a very heavy signature all the way from today to Egypt one may truly follow should they wish to.

Who am I and why would I know anything about it? The same as all of you trained by something that made no sense. This lead me to question further and further and my drive my spiritual freedom as represented by that of free will.

Growth is within us all should we decide to educate each other by our findings excluding our own ideas of it but rather what can be served to observe and discover. Not one will hold the entire answer but the many in the act of looking can find several that will all aline for a reasoning.

My personal reasoning located is Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Why it came back to this is another story, but I did find this to be all encompassing of life itself and the basis of choice with these 3 basic principals.

The direction is life, its preservation, its expansion , its creation and experiences all add up to the wisdoms of life. It also shows no limits and is limitless in how far it can grow.

Its opposition is only something you have stumbled on but its origination is more substantial to understand the why and the idea behind it all.

I am nothing more than an individual of Free Will with a limitless quest to learn about me for me to be an example of what determinism is and stands for. These are only represented in my contributions as the ones we look at here.

Finance is only a effect of a much greater cause but a far worse idea. Its enormousy only exists because the opposite idea is not in full force as you and many others have tested and given up explaining it as only a human condition. This statement in itself is a limitation and not part of the truth about life at all.

I would greatly reconsider and with your capabilities expand this to unlimited proportions by that of Free Will acting only as free will by the observation of the acts themselves, the purpose they drive and the direction they push towards.

The only value and contribution in all of life is life, you and I and any other Free will willing to discover the truths that have existed our entire life times only hidden from full view by a concept, an idea so limited it can never progress to the state of Free Will in any form.

I rest my case and ask you to reconsider and make this a limitless contribution by all willing.

There are lot of good comments here and a lot of passion sits in front of you.

Please contact me if you would like to converse on this subject. Our future is riding on it.

    Genuinely,
William, a producing American in the name of Liberty.
